Ashley Wade, a Long Island native, was always an athletic child. In High School, Ashley was a well-rounded athlete, playing varsity softball, soccer, and ice hockey. However, the fire and passion for hockey always burned the brightest. Growing up, Ashley had to travel far to make the most of her situation. Opportunities during that time were limited on Long Island for girl ice hockey players, but Ashley still sought out the best competition and training.
During Ashley’s hockey career, she played for the NJ Rockets and Portledge School. It was during these years that she attended Nationals and won 3 State Championships. Ashley had her sights set on a college athletic career, playing Division I hockey, but a diagnosis of Crohn’s disease in her senior year of high school derailed that dream. Despite her health battles, Ashley remained active and involved in ice hockey. For the past six years, Ashley has been the assistant coach for the Portledge Varsity girl’s ice hockey team. Ashley currently coaches for the Mid-Fairfield Stars.
Ashley Wade is passionate about growing girls hockey. Ashley is a dedicated coach who pushes her players to strive for greatness. A true student of the game, Ashley is committed to giving each player the best coaching and training possible.
